Caroline Brett

Secondary School,
Tasmania

Teaching has been at the heart of my identity for many years. My ‘calling’ is grounded in the ability to really know each of my students and be able to elicit the very best from them in the classroom.

One student and I have shared a journey of some longevity. I taught her when she was in Year 5,7,8,9 and 10 across the subjects of History, Religion and Sociology. Her words speak louder than mine in this letter. She is now enjoying a school exchange program overseas.

“Dear Mrs Brett,
I wanted to say that I am grateful for all the time and effort you put into making our classes engaging and enjoyable. You always find creative ways to explain complex concepts and making learning fun. You’ve not only helped me grow as a student but also as a person. Your encouragement has made a lasting impact on me”.
