As a teacher you are in a unique position where you have the opportunity to make a lasting impact in young people’s lives. In 2022, I taught a bubbly charismatic Year 4 student. During my 12 months as her teacher, I was able to develop a good rapport and use this to foster her growth. By taking the time to get to know her personally, I could be in tune with not only her academic, but her emotional needs, and be a continual pillar of support in her daily life.
When I receive letters like this one, I feel a great sense of worth because I can see how much the small things I do each and every day build up to make a big difference in my students’ lives. I feel so happy to be in a career where every day counts.
