As educators we possess the profound ability to positively impact the students in our care. My role as a classroom teacher is one of reward and satisfaction. One of the things that makes this career unique is the instant sense of gratitude I feel when I support students in their learning and educational journey. This reward factor is what makes my career so satisfying on a personal level. By creating a classroom environment that is inclusive to the needs of all students with a focus on their social, emotional and academic needs I have fostered a culture of continuous learning within my classroom.

Recently I received a heartfelt acknowledgement from a parent expressing gratitude for my role in guiding their child through Year 4. This gesture served as a poignant reminder of the significance of building positive and supportive relationships with each student. Such relationships not only enhance the learning experience but also fortify my commitment to achieving professional objectives.

My journey into the teaching profession was catalysed by the influence of a secondary English teacher whose honesty and candour left a lasting impression on me. This experience instilled in me a profound respect for the transformative power of education. Moreover, early in my career, I became acutely aware of the pressing need for increased number of male educators within the primary school sector. This realisation underscored my pivotal role in contributing to the educational landscape and further solidified my dedication to the education community.
